Reforms in 2005 had extended secondary education from 3 years to 4 years at general and vocational high school, and 4 years at technical high schools.
Students who complete the secondary education are awarded with the Mesleki ve Teknik Lisesi Diploması, which grants the access to take the university entrance examination.
Subject: this type of education has 6 subjects, such as Türkçe Matematik (turkish matemathics), fen bilimleri (natural science), sosyal bilimler (social science), yabancı dil (foreign language), sanat (art) ad spor (physical education).
Grading system: in September 2013 the grading system for upper secondary schol was changed from grading on both a 5-point and 100-point scale to just the 100-point scale. The new system gives an absolute grade out of 100 and the pass mark is 50.
